Allowing ads here

These tools are free, and they cost money to run. Advertising is what covers that. If you can allow ads on this site, it genuinely keeps the lights on.

Blocking happens in a few different places, and it is worth knowing which one is yours. If one section below does not match your setup, try the next.

1. A browser extension

This is the most common case — uBlock Origin, AdBlock, AdBlock Plus, Ghostery, Privacy Badger and similar. All of them let you allow a single site without turning the extension off everywhere.

1. Click the extension's icon in your browser toolbar, usually near the address bar.
2. Look for a large power button, or an option worded like Pause on this site, Don't run on pages on this domain, or Allowlist this site.
3. Choose it, then reload the page.

In uBlock Origin specifically, the big blue power button in the popup allowlists the current site; the small padlock next to it makes that permanent.

2. Built-in browser blocking

Several browsers block ads or trackers without any extension installed:

• Brave — click the Brave Shields icon (the lion) in the address bar and turn Shields down for this site.
• Opera — open Settings, find Block ads, and add this site to the exceptions list.
• Safari — check Settings → Extensions for a content blocker, and allow this site there. On iPhone and iPad, look under Settings → Safari → Extensions.
• Firefox — Enhanced Tracking Protection can block some ad scripts. Click the shield in the address bar and turn protection off for this site.

3. DNS-level blocking

If you use a Pi-hole, AdGuard Home, NextDNS, or a filtering DNS service, blocking happens on your network before the browser is involved — so no browser setting will change it. You will need to allow the ad domain in that tool:

• Pi-hole — Whitelist → add pagead2.googlesyndication.com and googleads.g.doubleclick.net.
• AdGuard Home — Filters → Custom filtering rules, then add @@||googlesyndication.com^.
• NextDNS — Denylist/Allowlist → add googlesyndication.com to the allowlist.

Changes can take a minute to take effect, and you may need to flush your DNS cache or reload with a hard refresh.

4. A VPN or network filter

Some VPNs (and most workplace or school networks) filter ads centrally. If you are on a managed network, this is likely out of your hands — and that is completely fine. The tools work regardless.

If you would rather not

That is genuinely okay. Nothing here is gated behind an ad: every tool works, your files still save, and exports still download. We would just rather ask than quietly break.
