About Awesome Crate
Awesome Crate is a small collection of browser tools for jobs that are often made needlessly complicated: preparing a PDF, protecting a private note, or starting a focused work session.
A local-first default
Many online file tools begin with an upload. That can be convenient, but it also means sending a document to someone else’s systems. For tools that can reasonably run in a browser, we prefer to keep the work on the device you are already using.
Modern browsers can process selected files, keep working drafts locally, and export a new copy without creating an account. That leads to a few practical benefits:
- ✓ Your files are never uploaded over the network, guaranteeing total data isolation.
- ✓ Zero upload queues or latency — conversions process as fast as your device hardware allows.
- ✓ Once loaded, the utilities function 100% offline even without an active internet connection.
